This collection is one which is truly born from the heart, built upon a deeply rooted appreciation of Ireland's forgotten talents and the faint desolate whispers of a bygone era. It is an alchemical marriage of past and present, a tapestry of sentiment, and an ode to the unyielding spirit of Ireland's artisanal legacy. Through my designs, I endeavour to revive the heartbeat of these ancient crafts, to drape the present in the elegance of the past and strike the match to rekindle tradition.



Growing up, my childhood home was an old tailor’s cottage where linen was made many years ago: A catalyst that instilled within me a profound admiration for our skills once cherished, nurtured and passed down through generations. I often wondered upon these talents when I would handle my grandmothers’ napkins and tablecloths, many of which were older than herself. In my childlike awe I had always hoped that as a grown woman, these would be skills that I would one day master; paying homage to the lyrical dance of linen and lace that once echoed through the rolling hills and quiet hamlets of Ireland.


It was only in the years that followed that I came to realise, the once very lifeblood of our local community had irrevocably perished and all that remained were the shadows of times past. Even now we can still see traces of its empty veins scattered and woven through the land. From spectral Mills to crumbling cottages these lonely, barren ghosts are echoed everywhere, lifted and lost by the tides of industrialisation.



It is with great care and sentiment that I have created these pieces using salvaged vintage linens, lace and more from attics and abandoned mills throughout Ireland.
With these rescued treasures, I have woven pieces of our story together, not only as an encapsulation of our past but to preserve our cottage industries that we once held so dearly, tucked away into the corners of the land where magic was made, and craftsmanship lingered in the air. A lost era when weathered hands would intricately birth exquisite pieces of art. Hands that sought no artistic title or recognition, Hands that had never known privilege, only provision, Hands that worked for the heart.



Regrettably, many of these ornate pieces of history were destined for the incinerator with countless already gone. All to make way for new construction projects; a harrowing symbolism of our callous 21st-century negligence. It is so profoundly important that we preserve these vessels of memories, emotions, and human ingenuity and breathe life into what remnants of heritage we have left. Through the years the linen and cottage industries could be found at the heart of many a household and I am glad to say it now nestles in the heart of mine. I Present to you “The Cottage Collection”.
